Life is good

You know what? I want to apologize for my pitiful post earlier today. I just spent an hour or so reading a blog of a woman around my age who is literally in the midst of dying of cancer. She's a wife. She's a mother. And she's suffering and dying.

Me? I'm feeling pretty pathetic for my woe-is-me-ness. I kinda live in that state of mind far too often and for goodness sake, I need to snap out of it. No, my life is not perfect, far from it. Yes, I have problems and struggles and right now I'm having a hard time having hope that things will change for the better.

But you know what? I'm alive, I'm well, and let's face it...it could be much, much worse. I'm sorry for losing sight of that fact once again.

  1. It's okay, Miss. We all get like that from time to time. Good job regaining a more positive perspective:0)
    Love ya.

  2. I completely understand what you're saying here. BUT...we're human and intelligent creatures, we can read and have our emotions touched in many ways--in all directions. That's what your posts show--emotions in all directions, that's all.

I'm with you, though, in couning my many blessings.

  3. We all go through ups and downs, we're not perfect. But I am very happy to hear that you are on a positive note again and hope it has a poditive effect on your life and others around you.

Thank you very much for your lovely post on my blog, it is very helpful to know that others are having similar experiences to mine. Its good to know that my weightloss slowing down is normal.

Any ways I look forward to following your blog and get motivated :)

  4. I will agree that it's good to look at the positive side of life and be thankful for what we do have. BUT that doesn't mean that it's wrong to have sadness, frustration, anger, or whatever other feelings over the bad things in our lives.

I heard someone say something once that has always stuck with me. They said that we don't have to feel like we have to minimize how we feel about something in our lives because others have it worse. There will always be others who are worse off than we are but that doesn't minimize the problems and pain that we face in our own lives. We definitely want to keep things in perspective but even though our problems might seem less than someone else's they are still, in fact, problems for us. It's okay to acknowlege that. :)

I don't know if that helps or not but don't be too hard on yourself. Everyone is allowed to have feelings like that sometimes. ;)

  5. I read your former blog post and then this one. The truth is Missy, life is gritty. Those blogs you read where the person has it all together is probably either A) a facade or B) they are lying. Most of us live ordinary lives...we have our good days and our bad days. We struggle with weight, our kids bicker, we have a ton of errands to run,the dinner didn't turn out right, and the cat threw up on the bed. You gettin' what I'm sayin'? It really is about perspective, and I will be the first one to step up and say...I have to work on that EVERY day. Because I'm not perfect...and I know it.
I love your blog because you're not afraid to say what so many of us are thinking:)
Have a good day my friend:) Hope you get to feeling better!
