Did another peek weigh-in...

Well, dang. I'm back at 125 again! This is crazy...I feel like I've reset my body to think 125 is the norm now! NO NO NO! Shoot...

So, this is the most frustrating part of it: from October through December when I wasn't working out regularly, I maintained 122/123 without even trying, even pigging out on Christmas cookies. Now that I'm working out regularly again this month, I'm up two or three pounds and can't seem to shake them! What the heck is up with that?!? Should I stop working out and see if they drop off? That doesn't even make sense. Ugh.

  1. What kind of workouts? Are you building muscle? Muscle weighs more than fat.

Are your workouts making you hungrier?

  2. Just my two cents' worth, Miss...
Exercising three times a week is a good start, but that's really the minimum you should be doing for good health. You might be doing just enough exercise to stimulate your appetite and/or trick yourself into feeling like it's "safe" to eat more.

In my opinion, I think that the period of time when you were able to maintain the weight without exercise was just a "honeymoon phase". If you would have continued to not workout, your weight would have slowly started to creep up and up, especially if you weren't always being super careful about what you ate.

In conclusion;0), I say: keep exercising!!! Your body needs it to stay healthy! Don't believe the "30 minutes, 3 times per week" lie. It's just not enough.

There you go, Miss. Take it or leave it:0)
    Love you!

  3. Marcy, they are strictly cardio workouts (walking/running intervals on treadmill) so no muscle building whatsoever.

Shauna, you may be right on the 3 day a week thing not being enough...but in all honesty it isn't much less than I was doing the whole time I was dieting! Maybe one day less a week on average. Well, I'm going to try and up the frequency for a couple of weeks to see if that helps.

Also, I have not been doing well getting my water each day, which I've read may make your metabolism sluggish. Could be that is contributing, too.

One thing is for sure...if I can't turn it around soon I'm going to start counting calories again and I so don't want to do that! Gotta go with what works for me, though. :)

  4. Don't cut out your exercise. It's too good for you! :) I was watching the Biggest Loser and Jillian said to stick to 3 meal and one snack between lunch and dinner. I don't know what you eating habits are like but maybe give that a try. I think I am. Somethings gotta work for us, right?

  5. any chance the monthly cycle is playing a part? water weight?

or time to change the workouts a little, if your body's gotten used to what you've been doing?

  6. Thanks for commenting on my blog about the book, The Choice!

We have a bit in common, I'm in Ohio and I have a 12 year old girl I homeschool. I also have weight to loose but you are doing better than me! You look great. I'm 5 foot and need to loose 25-30 pounds...I haven't started yet because I'm afraid of the frustartion and time commitment. lol. Your pictures really inspired me!
