Saturday morning weigh-in

Well, I lost exactly one pound. It seems like I've slowed WAAAAY down, and frankly, I'm annoyed. I know it's got to be my eating, because my workouts are going strong! I even added strength training this week. I guess I need to possibly start recording my food in Sparkpeople again for a few days and see if that helps. It gets annoying, but I did much better when I was keeping a closer eye on calories instead of ballparking.

Truth is, I'm frustrated. I've been stuck in June, only losing around 5-6 pounds total the entire month. I haven't been binging on bad food or skipping my workouts, just trying to eat a bit more normal than the previous two months. Ugh. At any rate, it is what it is, and I'm just going to have to keep tweaking!

  1. It is beyond my understanding that you can be so discouraged when you are consistently losing weight. You should be happy, darn it! You're obviously doing great!!! Think of what you'd be saying to me if I was doing as awesome as you, and then say that to Yourself;0)

  2. I know...but it really IS discouraging when you struggle so much and work so hard, only to barely see the numbers budge for so long. I miss the weeks I'd feel like all my work was WORTH it!

Not to mention, I think deep down I am afraid that the scale is going to start going in the opposite direction soon. Like I'm out of gas. I don't know. I'm just scared.

BUT I do have a bit of an attitude adjustment since I wrote this. I'm back on Sparkpeople and already I know it's what I needed to do.

That, and lay off the stinking pizza already! :)

  3. Part of the problem may just be that you have "less weight to lose"... You know how if you were like four hundred pounds, you could lose ten pounds a week. Well, when you're closer to your ideal weight, each pound is a larger percentage of your total body weight and it just doesn't come off as quickly. Like, could an eighty pound girl lose ten pounds a week? I don't think so!

Besides that, studies have shown that the more slowly the weight comes off, the more likely you are to KEEP it off. That's what you want, right?

Glad to hear that you've adjusted your attitude;0)
